These months are the monsoon/rainy season in the Maldives when storms are common in the afternoon, but usually come in short heavy bursts and clear up quickly. This is the low season when travel and accommodation prices can be lower, however, you never really have to deal with crowds on these islands/atolls as there are so many to choose from. The water conditions this time of year are perfect for both surfers and scuba divers along with warm water temperatures great for swimming and snorkeling. The average temperatures this time of year are about 80 degrees.

--Independence Day - July 26th - Maldives' independence is celebrated in style each year, with various festivities taking place, including parades and performances.
